As I remember it, it was the Sacramento Ham Club that got permission to use the antenna at VOA Dixon for a Field Day shortly after the VOA decommissioned the site. After they hooked everything up, they could not hear anything with it because of the high gain antenna picking up the signals from NPG - the Navy's transmitting site - two miles down the street. Someone forgot that there's a reason that receiving sites are located far, far away from such high-power transmitting sites. 73 de K2ASP - Phil Kane Elecraft K2/100 s/n 5402 From a Clearing in the Silicon Forest Beaverton (Washington County) Oregon ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected]
