I am just getting around to using the AXE1 and find it is impossible to screw the extender into the ax1 base ( and I pushed in as hard as I could while trying to get the threads to connect). It looks to me like a plastic wrapping around the base of the AXE1 sticks out too far preventing the threads from reaching. This plastic extension on the axe1 extends out abt 7mm on one side from the base (this plastic part was cut at an angle, 5mm on one side and 7mm the other.) Should I try and trim this part or send it back to elecraft?
