Last evening, after some advice from WB9CIF, I did a little more testing and found that the KAT3 would do nothing regardless of Antenna port or what actual antenna was selected.
I went into Config and told the K3 there was no tuner. Cycled the rig and then told the K3 that the tuner was installed and set to Auto. Now everything works as it should. Glad that's resolved and it wasn't the antenna on the tower in a Michigan upcoming winter.
