Hello, I am a very very new KX3 and PX3 owner and have been using this as my portable kit when I travel to NYC. I spend most of my life traveling in hotels, so I can't say I have really reached out to the world yet, but it certainly makes the stay a bit more fun. The KX3 and PX3 combo has been wonderful to bring on the train, setup at the hotel, and fiddle around with after work.
I have a naïve question about the waterfall. What exactly are the vertical lines that seem to follow the VFO as I tune around? Are they the resonant frequencies of the KX3? I am running both units on a battery, so I can't imagine it is noise from a wall wart. But I seem to see the same thing when operating at home. On the PX3, I see the green freq/bandwidth bar move when I rotate the VFO on the KX3. But the vertical traces seem to follow along with that. Being very new to this functionality... what exactly am I seeing? I made a short video here: https://youtu.be/v3iwWgsIDok Many thanks, and I love the chatter about how great a company Elecraft it. I have not had a single issue with my radio and am really happy with my purchase. 73 Ryan N1CDX — Ryan Bardsley Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts Unites States of America Grid square: FN42on ITU zone: 8 CQ zone: 5 WGS84: 42.579234, -70.771966 e-mail: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> mobile: 617-461-8390 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected]
