Mitch Did you receive any answers to your question in this post. I currently control my KPA500 KAT500 combo using a Win 7 machine and the server in the Elecraft remote s/w. I connect to both from my control location using shack PC and the client side of the software. I want to eliminate the PC at the remote end and use a 2 port ethernet to serial server from Startech that i have purchased.
I am trying to figure out how to set this configuration up. I assume I use the server host option in the Elecraft software but not sure. Did you receive any answers to your questions?
