About a decade ago I used contest software to key my Ten Tec via a home brew optical serial port adaptor. It worked but not perfectly, some characters delayed or truncated, especially with high speed CW. Changed to a winkeyer with USB interface. This has always worked great with all rigs, including my present K3S. I now use a windows 10 PC, but not N1MM software. Others have reported success with the winkeyer, and you may find some of the other features nifty also. Good Luck Rick KL7CW KX1, KX2, K3S, etc.
