I wouldn't think there'd be any problem as long as it's working.

Sounds like Christine got the wrong spool of wire for a few KX1 paddle kits.

Mmmmm.... mine came with stranded wire as well.
Soldering it looked like practically impossible to me, so I just used one 
strand for each connection, worked like a charm. Am I on a disaster course 
with my paddle?
