I think the Ham Expo was a good idea for our current times but I do not see it as a permanent replacement for the in person events. Perhaps going forward, the in person events could have a remote access side like Ham Expo.
I particularly enjoyed the Elecraft sessions, much more than the others; they seem to have thought the format through better and also more interesting subject matter (to me at least). I also liked not being crowded out of hearing a good show. 73 de W5SV - David F.
