At the risk of asking a dumb question.... If your gear is going into storage and you’re not transporting your K3s/P3 via aircraft, train, or auto on a trip, why not simply pack them in their original packaging as they came from Elecraft? If you didn’t keep the packaging, use a U-Haul box with bubble wrap or other protective inserts. Pelican cases are nice (I have one for my K3/I0-Mini and Remote Rig combo for taking them to various locations to operate) but they are not cheap and given their form factor will not ‘stack’ as well in a storage unit if all you’re going to do is put them in storage.
