Hi Folks, I just had a wierd DC connector failure on my KPA1500. The 75A power pole connector that feeds the back of the amplifier section just falls out. It hasn't been hit/moved or anything for years. The failure seems to be due to the weight of the DC cable continually pulling down on the connector - the amp section is on my operating desk and the power supply section is directly underneath it on the floor. That cable is pretty heavy stuff, so I'm not really surprised.
So, what's the fix? Has anyone else had this issue? I can easily replace the power pole connectors at the amp end of the cable (maybe just lose a couple of inches of the cable - not a big deal), but what if the "wear" is in the connector part that's soldered to the PCB inside the amp section? I guess I could take it all apart and replace them if needed....but I'd rather not have to. Any ideas?
