You might be referring to this from an Elecraft repair invoice: "Replaced Q5, D7, R3, R9 and R24 for Transmit/Receive MOD (Improves robustness in Transmit/Receive circuitry)."
My KPA500 was back to the factory in March and had this mod installed. That didn't help much in the "robust" department, because my amp went south almost immediately after its return. Apparently the PIN diodes D8, D9 and/or R7 have failed. I received many replies to my question on this forum from others who had the exact same issue. The symptom is recieve signal is attenuated about 20 dB when Operate is engaged; normal in Standby.
