In the case of the K2, it makes no difference if you 'pull the plug' or
use the power switch.
That same thing does not apply to the K3, KX3 or KX2 - you must power
down properly because there are things saved during the power off cycle.
In the case of the K2, the VFO frequency is not constantly remembered,
so if one turns the VFO knob and immediately powers down, the frequency
may not be remembered. The VFO is remembered only after a few seconds
of not changing.

Try 'counting to ten' before powering down.
If you move the VFO just before powering down, the VFO frequency may not have
been written to EEPROM yet, the process is not immediate.
