You should stop using it.  There is clearly something seriously wrong.  All 
KPA500 should make a loud, not faint, clicking noise as they heat and cool.

(I suppose I shall have to explain that much has been written about KPA500 
clicks and the attempts to fix this irritation. Try a search of the archives as 
discussion of this topic is likely to be cut off short.)
