I would just keep the Astron-35 (I bought one in 1980 and still works).
But I upgraded to a Astron-50M years ago and it supplies the entire shack (fused at 30A). I also use a 28v Astron for supplying 24v devices.

But Astron makes 8A and 10A switching supplies (we started swapping them out for older Astron analog PS at work).

Since the KX3 takes AA batteries so just install them (and keep buying them forever). <sorry-bad joke>

I have 50v-50A PS: three are surplus HP telephone switching supplies and newest is a Meanwell RSP3000. All require ferrites to keep them quiet. Need these to power my QRO LDMOS amps on HF/6m, 2m, and 1296.
