Yea, back in 1959 as a novice, I worked all over EU with a DX-20 and a single wire antenna. Yes, I could also hear the TV two doors down and the little old lady screaming at the screen. I don't think she really understood the source (her unshielded TV tuner) and maybe a little harmonic RF from me.
