I am blessed to have mostly St Augustine in my yard, but native Buffalo in the far back areas. I used an edger with two blades to cut a slot in the St Augustine down to ground level, then pushed the radials in with a homemade tool of aluminum channel. The radials disappeared within a few weeks and will be inches underground in 3 or 4 years.
