That wasn't accurate. What I actually do is "dash" the SWR display if there has been no TX on current TX frequency (+/- 500 Hz). I display X.XX if there was a TX on current frequency but forward power level was lower that the value assumed to give a valid SWR reading. Yes, it's more complex than most SWR displays but I have a low tolerance for misleading data.
