Rick, Can you provide more detail about how your K3 failed?
My impression from reading not only this reflector, but also the K3 and K4 groups.io fora, is that Elecraft is fully occupied with K4 support and firmware evolution. Others note longer than historically observed service times for units of any kind sent back for repair - not unique to you. I don't believe this backlog will persist indefinitely. Moreover, ordering a K4 now won't shorten the delay in getting a radio - it seems the last of the Group 2 orders for the K4, which were mostly made in 2020, are just being fulfilled now. Orders in Group 3 already made are looking at June/July 2022 for shipment. Could you approach a local ham friend who might have a rig to loan?
