I read that article that info was pulled from prior. I just plugged mine in & it worked. Was the mic I already had prior to getting my K3. No adapters or rewiring. I bought it a year ago new, probably an A. I personally have never used nor needed the onboard amp (only made things sound awful, maybe it helps somebody, not me). I have the IMP switch on 500. The bias set to high in the K3, so you don't have to run the mic gain maxed out. The "enable mic button" in the settings will make the freq up/down on the mic work but I don't use it. Getting good reports from everyone I've talked to for a non-fancy pants mic. I did tailor the tx EQ to my voice. Hope this helps.

Option "D") Make an adapter that swaps the leads so you can use the unmodified MC-60 on the Elecraft. I prefer to make adapters for my rigs so I can use (almost) any mic I have on (almost) any rig I have. 73, *Ken* *WA2LBI* On Tue, May 17, 2022 at 4:46 PM Joe Subich, W4TV <[email protected]> wrote: > On 2022-05-17 1:19 PM, Eric Fitzgerald wrote: > > > > Can you use a Kenwood MC-60 desktop mic with an Elecraft K3? > > If you have an MC-60 (not MC-60A), you can use it "as is".
