Hi Aaron, The symptoms you describe indicate to me a mechanical flexure problem. I would pull the Front Panel board out of the RF board socket (first removing the Control board) and carefully inspect all pins for corrosion. I would also inspect the solder joints on the Menu/Edit button switch.
The failure of the Menu/Edit button switch to produce any response on some occasions while causing display blanking and loss of receive function on others is odd, but the fact that cycling the Power switch restores function suggests that mechanical forcing on the RF board is sufficient to reconnect an intermittent power feed to the Control and Front Panel boards. I'm betting the J1/P1 connector junction between the Front Panel board and the RF board is the source of this behavior. 73, Mike, K8CN ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected]
