I operate my KX3 primarily as a base station as it’s the only rig I own. Love the rig and do occasionally operate portable without an external power supply. I recently heard that it’s recommended to remove the internal batteries with the rig is used primarily as a base station and connected to an external power supply - to avoid the rare instance of a battery leaking onto the circuitry. Is this Elecraft’s recommendation? And if removed, I assume I lose the internal clock?
