Hi, Dan, while not a hand mic, I use the Kenwood MC-60A desk mic with my K2. Got it on eBay for about 50-60% of the new price. Haven't had a lot of air time due to non-Ham obligations, but it seems to put out a decent signal. It has the up/dn keys & pre-amp, and is wired per the K2 manual. From what I read on eBay, the older MC-60 is similar, except the MC-60 doesn't have the up/dn keys or pre-amp.
