I currently subscribe to about 35 different lists (many are from groups.io). All but 3 (including Elecraft, and counting it as just one) allow both HTML and reasonable sized attachments.

That was an intentional decision by Elecraft when they set up the reflector more than 20 years ago. html formatted text is generally stripped, and those emails show up with blank content.
