I have experienced virtually no problems with my factory built K3-100
s/n 56xx purchased from Bob, K6XX, in August of 2011 at the ARRL Rocky
Mountain Division Convention in Taos, NM
Just this week my AF/Sub volume controls have become intermittent from
nothing to full volume without or without being touched; regardless of
setting. Upon closer inspection mechanically the AF knob feels like its
become loose inside the housing or a solder joint where the assembly is
fastened to the pcb.
I spent a good share of my working (?) life in telecom,two-way radio,
and IT. I have had added filters and upgraded boards in this rig in the
past but now am looking for a way forward as to whether or not dig in if
a replacement part is available from ( trouble ticket already sent) or
to take the audio from the back of the rig to a mixer board and just go
down the road..
