CAT allows true rig split or "fake it" modes of WSJT-X.  In either case the 
modulation frequency is limited to the range 1,500 to 2,000 Hz and any audio 
harmonics fall outside the TX passband of most transceivers.  CAT and the 
WSJT-X split modes do not prevent generation of audio harmonics but they do 
significantly reduce the risk those harmonics will be transmitted.

If you cannot, or will not, use CAT with real or fake split please do not 
transmit with DF less than 1,500 Hz.   I have far too many FT8 harmonics 
examples in my "horror signals" library.
