I have an old k3 #22xx working quite well, I like both DUAL PB and APF but
it is not handy to have to change always at config "DUAL PBT", it is
possible to create a MACRO to change from APF to DUAL PB without the config?
I have created a macro for APF but not possible to change to DUAL, they both
use the same command: SWH29. Maybe there is another way.

Well, I have remembered how to do it without MACROS (not possible) just with
NORM I/II and saving the filters with NORM. I had that before (15 years ago)
but just disappeared.

Always post your serial #, it really helps narrow down problems.
If older, the 28pin and 5 pin headers on the RF board going to the front
panel were tin and get oxidized.
Change them to gold.
To confirm this is the problem;
remove the two bottom bolts for the FP, pry gently in the two slots to
move the FP out on the pins a small bit then shove the FP back on.
That will temporarily clear poor connections.

I use this on all my QRP rigs that can't take a high SWR during tuning
with an external tuner:

It's tiny, inexpensive, and keeps the SWR under 1.5:1 while you are
tuning, and has a little slide switch that bypasses the gadget after you
done tuning, so you can get full power out to the antenna.

antenna, but that may not always be possible, especially with a three

landed on the window sill while I called the net. The birds were even chirping CW. It was
a night for the ages. See you all next week."

Good afternoon,
After almost 5 years of regular use, I've apparently hurt my KPA/KAT-100. The
amp and tuner are mounted separately from the K2 in an EC2 enclosure.
I forgot to unhook the antenna when I left home on Tuesday. I don't think there
was any lightning, but it was cloudy, and this time of year lightning can come
and go quickly.
Also, the antenna has had an intermittent issue, so maybe I hurt the rig while
transmitting on Sunday night. The rig's meter acted a bit weird while I was
transmitting during my last QSO, so I toggled the power, and the meter then
acted normally. I thought maybe the microprocessor had confused itself.
1. High-power: I can't tune an antenna on any band. Sometimes I get a "HI-REFL: or
"PA HOT" error, and sometimes an SWR reading will quickly flash on the K2's screen.
. I've tried tuning on antennas 1 and 2 using a dummy load.
2. Low-power: The tuner works into a dummy load on all bands, on both antenna
ports. The power out measures as expected.
When I change to low-power, and then select any new band, the "PA HOT" error
occasionally appears, but clears if I press any button.
So, I'm guessing it's a diode in the KPA-100. If anyone has any other
suggestions, insights or criticisms, please let me know.
