Good Evening,
My "new" antenna worked very well. More noise, which was expected,
and more contacts, which was gratifying. I built the dipole from
recycled antennas. Most of my antennas fail at the feed point due to
limbs bending under heavy snow loads. Others fail due to limbs flying
in the wind. In any case I build up a stock of 1/4 wavelength wires for
20 and 40 meters. In the last year I built a 1/4 vertical with 20 1/4
wavelength radials, an inverted Y for 40 meters, as well as the most
recent 20 meter dipole. I have a few more lengths of wire plus the
fixings for a 40 meter resonant flat topped dipole.
