Make sure VOX is turned on in the K3 and that it is set for straight key input ... i.e. internal keyer off.  If your K3 is properly configured, shorting the RCA Phono plug that goes into the Winkey should key the K3.  It is possible that you've got the Winkey configured for the second [KEY2] port, but I doubt that.

Years ago, the small fire in the corner of the chassis would lead us immediately to the area of the problem.  Not so much these days, but remember, "We always assume the worst. It rarely if ever is."

I don't have time now, but tomorrow, I'll look up the details and reply again.

Good day all….

I recently acquired a nice K3S and am having all sorts of problems; not rig
problems. I just installed a win-keyer so that I can use the K3S with N1MM. The
installation went fine but now I can no longer key the rig and get output Any
thoughts or help?

Thanks,

Carol
