Hello all, I have two K3s, both acquired recently, one with an earlier serial number (09xx) and the other with a later one (8xxx). 8xxx came to my shack first, so I've used it with KPA500 and KAT500. When I got my second K3, I compared them and found some differences, primarily due to their different options and settings. There are a few things that I am still scratching my head with. The K3 with the 09xx serial number is working with no flaws. However, the K3 with 8xxx serial number has very tinny receive audio in USB mode, and the transmit audio lacks volume in both USB and LSB modes.
TX and RX EQ settings, mic gain, and comp level are identical, and I am using the same MC-60 microphone. Am I missing something? I appreciate your thoughts on this. The bottom line is that I am with a good working K3, at least.
