As usual Don has provided the correct direct answer to your question. However, I'm wondering if it would not be desirable to keep the tuner in the path to the amplifier. I believe it will assure a measure of additional filtering for spur suppression and match the amplifier input exactly. Just a thought. I don't think there is a down side to keeping the tuner in the circuit.
