I don't see why not.  As long as you are not continuously transmitting for
minutes at a time.  Maybe limit power to a few watts to make sure to not
overheat.  A small amp could help with that.  I have never used mine for 2M
digital modes, but FM is FM.  100% duty cycle, key down.   So it should not
be any worse than FM voice.
