Actually the W1 already has the capability of displaying a peak hold led as you described. It is enabled via the W1 serial command set and can be stored permanently in eeprom so that it is on by default each time you power up your W1. (Hint: Use the "P" command followed by the "W" command.) Take a look at the W1 manual for a full description of the W1 serial command set and how to communicate with the W1 using a terminal program like Hyperterminal.

We're also adding this command to the next version of the W1 Windows control program to make it easier to set it up on the W1. Watch our web site in the next week for the latest version :-)
