Steve, Adjust the sidetone pitch to suit your ears - and every ear is different. After you select your best pitch, then center the CW filters on that pitch - use Spectrogram to do that. The 600 Hz number is just the most common and is used as the default value, but your ears may be different than the average.
If you have the KDSP2, be certain that the KDSP2 center frequency is the same as your chosen sidetone pitch. Isn't it nice that the K2 allows you to optimize these parameters?
