K2 serial number 5479 made it's first CW contact today on 20 meters. The rig went together smoothly in March last year and only required minor trouble shooting to get it working --- it had a bad solder joint on the preamplifier. The reason for the delay was getting the operator up to a reasonable speed on receiving CW. That took a while !
Be warned : there is a new ham with beginners CW skills operating a great rig while still trying to figure which is the 'dit' and 'dah' paddles. I'll be hoping for your sympathy as I work through the baby talk stages ! I have a reasonably complete setup with the K2, DSP, power amplifier, KAT100, and the internal tuner and will be looking forward to talking with everyone on the air.
