A friend saw my K2 and all its associated bits the other day and asked me if I
would build him a GC receiver. That started me looking around for other
quality kits and it seems there aren't a lot of 'em about, with Elecraft having
cornered the lion's share of the market.
I was also on the lookout for projects using SMD devices, but they are pretty
scarce, too.
The bottom line is, I haven't found much by way of quality complex projects out
there, especially for a receiver, so any help/pointers to likely sources would
be greatly appreciated. Elecraft GC receiver kit preferred, of course HI!

For a K2-related add-on, you might look at my Z90 digital panadapter
kit, details at www.cliftonlaboratories.com. Although a general purpose
panadapter, about 95% of my customers use it with a K2. The Z90 is a mix
of surface mount and through-hole parts. As far as the quality of the
kit goes, so far the comments I have received have all been positive.
It's about an 8-10 hour assembly project.
Another related kit is N8LP's LP100 digital wattmeter, which you can see
at www.telepostinc.com.
