Hi Ian,
I think it is about 3 khz. So I never go closer than 1.5khz. I suppose if you were on upper side band cw you could cosy right up to the lower edge of the band and the inverse with lower side band on the upper edge but I have never been sure enough to get that close. I am sure some one will either confirm or correct my answer if it is wrong.
