Don, You hit it on the head, as usual. When I plug the speaker connector into the RIGHT connector, it works. Thought I read the directions and never imagined two 2-pin P5 connector in a small area. So I plugged in to the Control board!
First try to use an external speaker did not work, and I guess that may be related to the speaker jack wiring. I will check out the errata for that, but it can wait till I am installing the KPA-100 I just started. Thanks all for the help.
