I've just built K2 #5957 and installed the DSP unit. Radio and DSP are both impressive as is. It seem "intuitive" to me that the DSP filter's center frequencies should agree with the CW sidetone. That is, if I use a 440cps side tone, then all the DSP center frequencies - on CW - should be centered on 440cps, also. Am I think correctly on this point?

It depends on how you prefer to operate. If you want the received station's pitch to match your sidetone, then the answer is yes. Some folks prefer the pitches to be different to make it easier to distinguish what's going on, especially when using QSK, in which case you would set the DSP filters to your preferred receive pitch.
