Al,
Check the Specifications section of the manual. You should find that
the current draw at 5 watts is less than 1 Amp. If your K1 has options,
that current draw may increase a bit, but in any case, a 3 watt power
source should be more than adequate - actually a 1 amp supply may
suffice, but if you are investing in a power supply consider allowing
some reserve, hence my recommendation for a 3 watt or greater supply.
Resist the temptation to use a wall wart supply - the voltages on some
of the 12 volt wall warts can be as high as 17 volts - use a regulated
supply rated at 12 to 13.8 volts.
