Hi all, I've spent the last few weeks after work - at the expense of getting on the air much :-( - writing some code to control the K2 and the W1 watt meter. The code is free and written in Java meaning it should run on any popular operating system. First time Java installs are a little more involved than simply installing an operating system specific executable, though. Pictures and descriptions are at
http://udel.edu/~mm/ham/elecraft/ The K2 interface is convenient if you use a computer in the shack but does offer the bonus of what I call phantom buttons for multi-button combos. The W1 software is not only a convenience but gives you access to some of the W1 functionality only available through software. Plus you get readings of 3 sig figs rather than 1 via the leds alone. If you decide to give it a try, please let me know offlist what you think, how installation directions could be improved, etc. The code will continue to evolve but is probably 95% or more complete. A couple more programs are in the works as well though it'll be another month or so. Thanks & 73! Mike ab3ap PS I only have linux to test on so I'm curious how users of other OSes fare. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
