Hi Chris,
I had the same problem this morning. I tried to search the archives for
D104 to see how to wire a D104 without an amplifier. I remembered seeing
it there somewhere. I got no hits, I know D104's have been mentioned at
least 50 times over the years. Then I searched for crystal, as in
crystal element.. I got only 7 hits, The word crystal I am sure has been
mentioned more than 7 times over the years. I sent a quick e-mail to the
webmaster for the Elecraft website.

I find the searchable archives to be an excellent source of
suggestions and ideas when one has problems.
