Hello all,
I built and installed the Noise Blanker board for the K2 last night.
Even when not switched on, it seems to attenuate the signal by 1-2 S
units.
I did not find this correct and went back and double-checked
components and windings on the cores, twice!
All look ok.
So next broke out my trusty HP 8640B, and set it to read 7 S units on
40 meters with the Noise Blanker board installed.
Keeping the signal generator at the same setting, I removed the Noise
Blanker board, left the connector in place, and reinstalled the
original resistors and jumper.
Sure enough, a 1-2 S unit gain.
My question is if this is normal for the board?
If not, and the coils and components are correct, I must assume one
of the active components is bad, IC, transistors, etc.
Right, wrong, or maybe?
