I hate silicon(e) grease with a vengence. If you ever use adhesives, don't let
silicon grease near anything you are ever likely to touch. I get the feeling
that a layer one molecule thick stops anything sticking. It can be transferred
on your fingers to the bench and then to anything else and so on.... In one of
my workplaces it was banned from the factory site as it was identified as the
source of poor adhesion on a project. A solvent for it would be good, but I
don't know of one.
