Gary, When I built my K2 it was about 20 years since my last kit. I never had any problems that I couldn't handle and Elecraft was very helpful in answering questions as well as this forum. You want the K2. It has much more to offer.
As I am now 63 years old the old eyes aren't what they are use to be so the use of a good magnifying glass, good lighting, and a good temperature controlled soldering iron really does help. The manual is really laid out effectivily.
