I had intended to operate from somewhere along the Appalachian Trail for the event this weekend. Turns out it is my turn to work on Saturday (I've been pretty lucky lately to not have to work but this is the last day of the fiscal quarter and all efforts are required, so I'm going to do my part). Since my new work QTH is about 1 hour south of my home QTH and the AT is about 1/2 to 1 hour north or NW of my home QTH, I've decided in the interest of time and ability to operate that I will pick a place half way between work and home and I'll take my equipment with me to work Saturday morning. I don't have a specific position picked out yet but in general I should be operating from somewhere around Lake Nockamixon (State Park) in Bucks County, PA.

It is an artificial reservoir and there are at least a couple of places where I am sure I can set up my "Black Widow" vertical next to the water as well as other places where I can hang a dipole in trees. I should be on the air around 1600Z for about 4 hours. There will be scattered showers so I hope things will be okay (should be a good ground, HI HI!). I figure most of my operation will be on 20m however I certainly will be on 40m and if I take the K2 instead of the KX1 I may give a listen on 15m occasionally as well.

I hope I have more to report on Sunday after my efforts!
