Well...I decided to go to FDIM/Dayton this year for my first "total immersion"
into the QRP world. What a blessing. The K3 demo done at FDIM by Wayne and
Eric was simply stunning; you can't possibly understand the breadth of
engineering excellence in the K3 until you SEE it in action. Those that have
ordered it sight unseen will not be disappointed.

Meeting Don, Jeff, and Tom in person and having brief chats with them was
worth the cost of the trip alone. (The only person I would have liked to have
met was was Ron.)  Brilliant in their own spheres of technology is one thing;
being the gentlemen they are makes them special. The talk given by Jeff on DSP
was stimulating, humorous, and incredibly informative about the role that DSP
plays in the K3. I'm reminded of the commerical by a major auto manufacturer
several years ago about quality not being an add-on but built-in throughout
their product. DSP in the K3 is like that: not an add-on (as un the K2) but
the very center of the K3 design.

I was fortunate enough to be able to do booth duty. I say fortunate because
I'm still learning about Elecraft products, owning a K1 and just purchasing a
K2 (yes, I bought a K2 as it meets my needs for both technical and budget
reasons). It was such a gas to "represent" Elecraft at the show and reminded
me of my days of trade show support for a major manufacture of instruments and
computers for whom their engineering excellence and quality could not be beat
(think of a company known by two initials). I never had to apologize for
working for that company. While we didn't do everything perfect and right, we
were light years ahead of the competition. I put Elecraft in the same category
and hope I may have the privilege again it the furture. Thanks to Wayne and
Eric (and to Lisa for putting me on the list) for having so much fun at Dayton.

Thanks to the entire Elecraft team for all of your products and your
commitment to excellence. Well done.
