Didn't have any tussle with the bail ... just used long
screws initially like several have already suggested.
If you want a bail tussle, deal with the shorter bail.
But, the same long-screw approach did the trick.
No trouble with a "warped" bottom here, BTW.
Maybe there are differences in manufacturing runs
and/or hole tolerances.
