I haven't put my radio on the wireless network here yet, but if were going to do so, I would use a Digikeyer from Microham:

which includes both sound and radio control interfaces to the radio through a single USB port. Cables for the K2 are included.

I would hook this to a network USB hub from Belkin:

Which connects directly to your wirelesss router, or an ethernet to wireless box like the Linksys WRT54G already mentioned, an AirPort Extreme, or an Airport Express. It allows you to access the USB device from any computer on the network.

Then with software that controls your radio, like the MacK2, or MacLoggerDX, you can access the USB input/output from the Digi\Keyer and your K2 anywhere you can access your wireless network with your laptop. This isn't cheap, but it is not outrageous either. I am not sure how bad latency would be.

You can interface other shack devices with USB ports, or that can be converted to USB ports, as there are several USB ports available on the hub.

The time to think of a shack as a place to go and operate in front of a radio is probably coming to an end. With a wireless network your hardware can be in a closet and you can operate anywhere you have computer access to your network. With slightly better human computer interfaces (read knobs and/or a multitouch screen) and a way to interface a paddle to the laptop, I think that this is the future of ham radio. Maybe not next year, but it is coming. - Dr. Megacycle KK6MC/5
