Firstly, let me say these are of course my opinions and may not represent those of my fellow countrymen, and may be completely wrong too!
Its relative, we have far less guns in the UK than you do in the US, so the original gun control here has meant less guns and less gun crime (knife crime by young teenagers is becoming a problem). But it's rising and since the govt. introduced stricter controls a few years ago, it hasn't stopped it. It has made life difficult for the legitimate users, like competitors. What I think has made a difference over in the US and isn't being used here is the zero tolerance and 3 strikes and you're out policy. And since this is now a way off-topic post, I suggest we don't upset people by continuing here.
