And the 2B wasn't considered a top-of-the-line receiver in its time! One big cause of its popularity was that it was considered *inexpensive* for the performance and features you got for $279. And it was, even though it wouldn't transceive and the basic 2B did not include 160 meters, a calibrator, a noise blanker (it had a limiter), the Q multiplier, nor even a built-in speaker IIRC.
